The training course is conducted over two consecutive days.
Day one: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
Day two: 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Training is conducted by a Pediatric ICU Nursing Sister and a Paramedic specialising in emergency response.
The Pediatric & First Aid course is certified by the American Heart Association and Resus Council of South Africa. Trainees will receive a certificate on completion of the course as their accreditation will be valid for 2 years. Trainees registered with Discovery Health Vitality will also receive 2500 points.
Course Content (Day 1):
Au Pair qualities & expectations, Challenges faced when being an Au Pair, Scenarios & emergency situations on duty, Caring for a baby or toddler, Challenges facing children, Child Stimulation (Games to play) Routine & structure, Aggression & Discipline, Homework, Assignments and Exam preparation, Health meals and lunch boxes (tips and preparation), Holiday fun, Interviewing skills, Employment act, Q&A.
Course Content (Day 2):
Home Safety, Temperatures, Febrile Convulsions, Baby Medication, Choking, SIDS, Drowning, CPR, Head Injuries, Burns, Insect Bites & Stings, Bleeds, Animal Bites, Allergic Reactions, When to see a Doctor.
Au Pair/Executive Nanny Training Course
At Domestic Angels we offer inhouse training courses for individuals who want to upskill themselves in the fields of Domestic worker, Child-minder or Au Pair or Carer. The training is broken down into two modules. The first module is an introduction into the role or profession. The second module focuses on Pediatric First Aid & CPR.
